Onion Rice


Ingredients:
1 cup cooked rice
2 medium sized onions ( sliced)
5 to 6 curry leaves
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp chana dal
pinch of hing
1 green chili
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp garam masala powder
2 to 3 mint (phudina ) leaves
salt to taste
2 tsp oil to cook

Method:
  • Heat oil in a kadai.
  • Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, chana dal, hing, curry leaves,mint leaves and green chili
  • Once the seeds starts cracking ,then add sliced onion. and cook for 2 to 3 mins
  • Once little crispy and brown , add the rice , salt to taste, garam masala powder and lemon juice.
  • mix well and serve hot

Serving Suggestions:
Serve with dal or curry
